Once children fall in love with agriculture, they grow into farmers who are passionate about what they do. This is how Winfred Luutu, owner of His Grace farm is raising her son Israel Pilot Mbira.
At the recent Harvest Money Expo which was held at Mandela National Stadium Namboole, Mbira spent three days helping out his mother at her stall. He shared his story;

I am nine years old in Primary Five at Mukono Boarding Primary School. I enjoyed the expo so much because I sold many fruit tree seedlings with my mother. We made a lot of money. People love fruit trees and spices and mother grows many of them at her farm in Mukono district.
They include; cocoa, guavas, mangoes and pumpkins. I have two brothers who also love farming. However, of all the fruits, I enjoy growing oranges because they are easy to plant and look after, yet they also have a good market.

This is how you can do it. Get a good seedling and plant it in a medium hole with some manure then water in the morning and afternoon. It will take about six months to mature. I aspire to become a farmer like my mother.
