Asthma is an episodic constriction of the bronchial tubes. It is a common disorder in both children and adults.
Asthma can cause wheezing, coughing and difficulty in breathing. The conditions can appear and disappear without warning.
But if an attack is severe, it can even kill. Asthma can be triggered by allergy, emotion, induced by exercise or respiratory infections. This condition can be treated by managing an acute attack and long-term prevention.
Allergic asthma can be managed by the use of inhalers, such as cromolyn sodium. For an acute attack, one can use tobacco tincture, mixed with cayenne pepper. Put one spoonful in water and drink when under attack. For long-term prevention;
Decrease protein to 10% of daily caloric intake. Replace animal protein with plant protein.
Eliminate milk and milk products, substituting them with other calcium sources, such as almonds and leafy greens.
Eat organically grown fruits and vegetables.
Use extra-virgin olive oil as your main fat.
Increase intake of omega-3 fatty acids.
Always drink plenty of water to keep your respiratory tract secretions more fluid.
Experiment with eliminating the conditions and foods that cause allergies.
Eat ginger and turmeric regularly for their anti-inflammatory effects.
Have some manipulative work done on the chest to break up restrictive patterns in innerves and muscles that develop in chronic asthma.
Minimise contact with respiratory irritants, such as smoke, dust, and volatile chemicals.
Remove sources of offending materials from your home and install a good air filtration system or consider moving, if the air where you live is bad.
