Paula Sekabira, a plant enthusiast uses stands to support her creeping plants.
She says some plants break after growing tall and unmanageable.
In this case, metallic stands come in handy.
She says, she also uses the stands to beautify her home and make an income as well.
Steven Kirumira, a gardener says stands can also be used to support tomatoes, beans and raspberries among other creeping plants.
“They hold the plants in one place such that they don’t flop and break,” he says.
Sekabira uses the stands to support roses, begonias and other plants.
“They can become a great statement piece in any outdoor area,” she says.
She is quick to add that these pieces come in different shapes and sizes.
Just think of the style of your garden and the kind of plants that they will be supporting before choosing the best one for your needs.
Kirumira says, you can place the stand in any corner of the garden or at an entrance, more so, if the plant is in bloom.
However, he warns that the stands can look bare at first but once the plants grow and fill them, the beauty comes out.
Sekabira sells the stands from sh50, 000 depending on the size and design.
