The South Sudan Minister of Livestock and Fisheries Onyeti Adigo Nyikech and his team are in Uganda for a working visit
benchmarking session.
Minister of Agriculture Animal Industry and Fisheries (MAAIF) Frank Tumwebaze, Minister of State for Animals Industry on Wednesday November 15, 2023 interacted with his counterpart and his delegation.
He revealed that the Juba team who are in Kampala for benchmarking, would also visit the acaricide manufacturing factory and the National Agriculture Research Organisation (NARO).
“Happy to host my colleague, the minister of livestock and fisheries and his team from South Sudan Government. They are in Uganda to visit one of our private sector acaracide manufacturing factory Sanga Vet. Chem. Ltd.
The minister and his team will also visit one of our NARO centers for agricultural research benchmarking,” Tumwebaze said on his X-platform (former twitter).
Sanga Vet. Chem. Ltd located at the Kampala Industrial Business Park, Namanve in Mukono district was licensed by National Drug Authority (NDA) to manufacture animal drugs.
Manufacturing commenced August 2021 with 7 products including 5 acaricides, an anthelmintic and a wound remedy. The 5 Acaricides underwent clinical field trials as per NDA Regulations to ensure that they are effective against ticks and safe to use. The School of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Resources (SVAR), Makerere University was selected as a Contract Research Organisation (CRO) by Sanga Vet. Chem. Ltd to conduct the trials across the 2 ecological zones of the country.
