The Prime Minister of Uganda, Robinah Nabbanja, has asked investors to promote products they manufacture through Agro-processing.
She said that many investors use raw materials like wood from our country to make furniture, adding that if these products are branded ‘Made in Uganda’, it will help in promoting our country and return more revenue in foreign exchange through Build Uganda Buy Uganda ( BUBU).
She said this while officiating at the opening of the ABC Hauz showroom along 5th street in Kampala on Friday, October 28.
The founder and managing director of ABC Hauz, Muhammed Madani, said that as a company which is dealing in Kitchen and bathroom products, they are looking forward to working with tree-growing farmers.
“As a way of supporting farmers, we are going to educate them on which trees to plant and even provide them with seedlings,” he said.
The president of Green Economy East Africa, Edwin Musiime, said that tree planting helps in creating shade and shelter for crops and livestock.
He added that farmers can intercrop the trees with crops, this way, they can have food for consumption and sale.
