- Farmers must buy products from registered and certified sources only. Buy only from the stockiest who are registered and insist on obtaining a receipt.
- Never buy from a truck or from anybody telling you the product is going for half-price. This should set the alarm bells off.
- All certified dealers have certificates hanging in the stores. Such include from UNADA, UNBS, etc.
- Farmers should not buy products from briefcase dealers. Don’t buy from people whose sources you can’t trace. So buy from ‘fixed’ shops and stores. The branding must have a clear location and telephone contact of the seed producer.
- Learn about the various varieties of seeds on the market and which company produces what. Most fakesters do not have names correctly labeled on the covers.
