We are living in an increasingly fast-paced world, and innovations have advanced just as rapidly to provide solutions that make life easier and more efficient. One of the fastest-growing sectors in Uganda today is agriculture, where value addition has become a key priority for both the government and civil society organisations.
Green Deli, a company specialising in adding value to natural spices, is one such organisation that has deliberately committed to enhancing food spices through organic processing. Their latest product, tomato sauce powder, is designed for convenience, allowing consumers to use it on the go. Speaking to New Vision, Shakira Muhammad, a representative from Green Deli, explained that the powdered tomato sauce was developed to simplify food preparation while also creating new market opportunities.

“The powdered tomato paste was naturally processed by drying and grinding tomatoes,” she said. For those interested in witnessing such groundbreaking innovations, the Harvest Money Expo is the perfect platform. The three-day event will take place at Mandela National Stadium from 14th to 16th February.

Now in its ninth edition, the Harvest Money Expo is organised in partnership with Bella Wine, Engsol, Tunga Nutrition, aBi, UDC, Pepsi Uganda, and the Embassy of the Netherlands. Under the theme “Farming as a Business: Value Addition and Cooperatives,” the event brings together key stakeholders to exchange knowledge, foster market linkages, and promote financial independence through agribusiness.
