The Grain Council of Uganda is expected Thursday to sign a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with an Indian-based warehouse company at Serena Hotel, Kampala.

The Indian company, StarAgri, will build an agriculture hub in Uganda.

The AgricHub will help smallholder farmers and processors to access micro-loans (using their commodities that will be kept in a warehouse) to improve their businesses, as they look for markets where they will sell commodities at a better price.

Officials from the trade ministry, UNBS, and Post Bank among others will witness the signing of the MOU.
