All roads will lead to Mandela National Stadium Namboole as Vision Group’s Harvest Money Expo kicks off this Friday.
Slated for February 14-16, expo visitors will be taught more about the latest technology and best farming practices from agricultural experts and others in supporting sectors such as finance and machinery.
For only sh10,000 per day, visitors will visit an array of stalls dealing in different aspects of farming. If one wants to particularly learn more about a type of farming, they will pay an extra sh10,000 for the daily training sessions by experts.
All farmers and prospective farmers will be catered for at the expo — big and small.
For example, farmers who would wish to engage in urban farming will find the Urban Greens Limited stall in the Dutch Village quite handy.
Edrick Aturinda, the marketing, sales and public relations person at Urban Greens Limited, said they will demonstrate hydroponics and aquaponics farming systems at the expo.
“We have a system with pipes and another with grow towers. We will also have a small set[1]up of aquaponics that has a tank. Grow towers are such as a cylinder on which plants are grown vertically on rings around it,” he said.
Aturinda added they expect to gain visibility from the expo.
“We want to get more visibility and for people to get to know what we do so that they can know what they can do with our systems. We also hope to get customers we can partner with or find people who would like to invite us for training. Basically, we are looking forward to also generating links for our systems,” he said.
The 2025 expo is organised by Vision Group in partnership with the Embassy of the Netherlands, and sponsored by the Uganda Development Corporation, Engineering Solutions (ENGSOL), Tunga Nutrition, Bella Wines, Pepsi Cola and aBi Development.
