Alisen Nuwamanya, a professional agriculturist and backyard gardener says, some families fail to maintain their gardens because of invaders.
These include pets, birds and children who destroy the plants.
However, this can also be solved.
“The backyard garden can be protected. Invaders are not an excuse to shun gardening,” he assures.
Ivan Amutuhire, another gardener is quick to add that after planting the garden, fence it off with strong metallic mesh.
You can also use wooden or metallic poles to hold the mesh in place and leave a small lockable entrance.
“All the materials you need will depend on the size of your garden,” he notes.
