Farmers, agro-input dealers and everyone running an agricultural-related business have been urged not to miss the 2025 Harvest Money Expo.

This was during a farm visit at Itungo Pastures in Wakiso district last week.

The annual Harvest Money Expo organised by Vision Group will take place in February bringing together all agricultural players.

Fiona Tamale, the events manager at Vision Group, who represented Vision Group’s CEO Don Wanyama, called upon members of the Business Network International (BNI), Uganda to be part of the expo as there are a lot of opportunities they can tap into and grow their businesses.

She said that as BNI stands to create opportunities for its members through supporting each other, the Harvest Money expo is the best as it brings all sector players together to discuss and share business opportunities.

“We have customer-tailored arrangements where we can set up a village for organized persons just like we do with the Dutch, where all the exhibitors from the same organisation are found in one place so they can create awareness about their products and businesses to the public,” she says.

Ruhakana Rugunda, the former Prime Minister of Uganda who was the chief guest, called upon youths to venture into agri-business saying that this will create a capable and self-reliant generation which will drive the country to its desired development agenda.

He emphasised the need to cooperate as a way of creating market linkages and helping each other to grow but also shares experiences and work on challenges which will help to take their businesses to the next level.

“Farming as a business is no longer a job for the failed ones but a noble and respectable job that does not only feed every living individual but also creates income and jobs to sustain the lives of entrepreneurs and employees,” he said.

Pison Busingye, the director of Itungo Pastures called upon members to venture into dairy farming, saying it is a very profitable business.

He added that one can earn from milk, beef, and pasture growing among others.

“There is a ready market for milk, beef and pasture. If you planted pastures like panicam which is good for hay, you will harvest 200 bales in three months with each bale going for sh10, 000,” he says.
