Butchery operators and traders of livestock products in Kampala- are free to sell meat.
This is because the cow that was found to be having foot and mouth disease in Kabowa a Kampala suburb has since been treated and the farm that is mainly on zero grazing is being monitored by veterinary doctors from the ministry.
The clearance was made by the Minister of state for Animal Husbandry Bright Rwamirma on Tuesday at his office in Kampala.
while briefing the media about the FMD situation, Rwamirma said that the quarantine imposed by one of the ministry staff last week, should be disregard.
Following the directive, there has been anxiety among meat traders in the city center and the leadership of Kampala Capital City Authority.
Instead those into cattle trade should follow guidelines that were issued by the ministry earlier on how to control and manage FMD, he added.
He added that from the time of the outbreak,34 district have been put under quarantine and some have already been vaccinated.
