The Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, Dr Stephen Kaziimba Mugalu, has urged Christians to embrace farming within their communities for socio-economic transformation.

He made remarks at the Provincial secretariat in Namirembe on Thursday while giving an update on the Church of Uganda-NAADS projects which started in different dioceses.

Kaziimba said some Christians have neglected farming which has resulted in poverty within their households.

He asked Christians to change their mindsets and turn to developmental projects.

According to Kaziimba, over 159 heifers and 800 piglets have been sent to the dioceses of Central Buganda, Kitgum, West Lango and Busoga.

He said that all the 37 dioceses will benefit from the programme.

After the address, Kaziimba handed over a brand-new vehicle to the provincial staff which he said will help in supporting the monitoring of the projects all over the dioceses.

Hadijah Nakakande, the head of Communications at NAADS, explained that they have collaborated with the church to ensure that every diocese has a growing project which will benefit Christians.
