Chips

Fresh cassava tubers can be sliced into thin slices and fried to make chips and crisps. These are then deep-fried and packaged and sealed in polythene bags. A small pack goes for sh1000.

Confectionary

High-quality cassava flour can be mixed with wheat flour to make a range of confectioneries including bread, cakes, doughnuts, and pancakes.

Floor

High-quality cassava flour is made by drying peeled cassava which is shredded and placed under the sun (this takes a short time compared to drying big chunks). Using a chipping machine to make a mash that dries fast in the sun. You can also take the cassava to a mill. Pack the flour in either polythene or plastic containers.

Fuel

Ethanol is used to make medicinal alcohol, alcoholic drinks, and fuel. Ethanol produced from cassava is a better fuel alternative to gasoline with cleaner combustion, promotes a healthier environment.
