Over 600 people have attended the Harvest Money Master Class at Bego Farm in Soroti.
The Master Class which ran under the theme; ‘Fixed farming for project’ attacked farmers, students and those interested in venturing into farming as a business.
The event was organised by Vision Group through its platform, Etop Radio at Teddy Wanzunula Wabomba’s Bego Farm in Okidoi village, Ocokican sub-county, Soroti district.
The farmers were taken through the best agronomic practices of poultry, piggery, beekeeping, horticulture and urban farming.
Wabomba who was among the 2016 Best Farmers asked those who attended to put into practice whatever they learnt from the master class.
“It is important to start something. My journey started when I attended a vegetable growing training organized by Vision Group at Kasanje in 2012. In 2016, I was selected among the Best Farmer winners from the Teso region and I have never looked back. New doors have since opened for me,” she said.
Joseph Akiiso, the Etop Radio manager thanked those who attended the training, saying that Vision Group aims to transform people’s lives.
“We believe this training will create an impact among those who attended as each has something to learn,” he says.
The showgoers came from Soroti and the neighbouring districts of Mbale, Katakwi, Kumi, Serere, Napak and Bukedia among others.
