The rains are almost here even though with a vengeance in some parts of the country.
The coming of the rains means that the second planting season has started.
While we prepare to plant, the saying ‘you reap what you sow’ must continuously ring in our minds. There are no miracles on the farm.
There is no way you can plant maize, but harvest beans. There is no way you can plant soya and harvest peas. By now, farms must have already been prepared.
The first and second ploughing must be done by now. You should be raiding the agri-inputs shops to acquire seeds.
But as you do so, remember there are fake seeds all around us. There are seeds meant for specific areas too.
There are seeds that grow faster but yield less and those that grow slowly but yield more. There are seeds that require more water than others.
The bottom line is for you to ask as many questions as possible from your seeds supplier so that you do not go wrong. Remember; ‘You will reap what you sowed’
