How Often Do I Sweep The Chicken House?

You do not have to sweep the poultry house every day. You can sweep it once every month.  To avoid sweeping it even more regularly, put some beddings on the floor of the chicken house. 

These will absorb the droppings. Such beddings include wood shavings, sawdust, rice husks, coffee husks or even dry grass. 

For broilers, the bedding materials are removed after the stock is sold off while for layers it should be removed after eight months.  These beddings can then be turned into organic manure.
