The way you present your salad(s) matters, especially when you are hosting.
Micheal Mutenza, the executive chef at Eureka Place Hotel in Ntinda says that in some homes, people ignore food and salad presentation but this can either whet or kill the guests’ appetite.
Add colour to your salad
It is easy to master the art of salad presentation according to Mutenza.
You just have to be creative with the vegetables and ingredients you have.
For example, create a colourful masterpiece using carrots, purple cabbage, cucumber, and lettuce.
Aside from their health benefits, these vegetables are rich in colour and texture.
First, select fresh lettuce leaves; wash and dry them.
Next, wash the carrots and grate them into thin crunchy strips for visual appeal.
Moving on to the purple cabbage, slice it thinly and it will add a bold pop of colour to the salad. Also, slice the cucumber.
How to assemble
Carefully arrange the lettuce leaves on a platter and scatter the carrots, purple cabbage, and cucumber on top.
Finally, drizzle a light vinaigrette over the salad and serve.
