“Light rainfall (less than 50 mm) is expected in central Sudan, western Eritrea, eastern Ethiopia, South Sudan, most parts of Somalia, coastal and south-western Kenya, Uganda, eastern Tanzania, Rwanda, and northern Burundi,” stated ICPAC.

As the rainfall belt shifts from the northern to the southern hemisphere, Uganda should expect wet conditions to prevail over most parts of the country in the week of September 12–19, 2023, according to ICPAC.

According to the weekly weather forecast, most parts of the region, including Uganda, should expect favourable temperatures.

“Moderate to high temperatures (20–32 °C) are expected over southern parts of Sudan, South Sudan, Uganda, Somalia, eastern and northern Kenya, most parts of Tanzania, and eastern parts of Rwanda and Burundi,” stated ICPAC.

ICPAC is a climate centre accredited by the World Meteorological Organisation that provides climate services to 11 East African countries. The services offered by ICPAC aim to create resilience in a region deeply affected by climate change and extreme weather.

ICPAC operates under the Inter-Governmental Authority on Development (IGAD), which is a regional body to which Uganda subscribes as a member.
