Addition of value to agricultural products is one of the calls being made by the Government to reduce wastage as much as possible and to also increase the market for farmers’ produce.
In line with that mission, researchers decided to work with the private sector to add value to some of their crop varieties, which in their raw form haven’t been attractive to consumers.
Such products include cassava, sorghum, beans and soya beans.
Therefore, at this year’s World Food Day celebrations on October 16, 2022, different organisations and industry players, displayed a variety of value-added products that could encourage farmers to increase production.
