- Provide warmth. When piglets are born, they need a warm, dry place to live. Warmth is the most important thing to think about in taking care of piglets because coldness can easily cause diseases and poor immunity which can kill off your piglets.
- Pile up bedding. For bedding, straw or hay work well with wood chips underneath for absorption of urine and droppings, making it easy for cleaning to control a bad smell on your farm.
- Feed properly. Feed your piglets in time, provide a balanced feed and water with iron. These will improve the growth rate exponentially.
- Control parasites and prevent anaemia. A pig house must be kept clean. If left unchecked and untreated, parasites will rob piglets of essential nutrients needed to gain weight and grow, causing discomfort resulting into big losses.
