The expo promises to be a one-stop centre for all farming-related activities, since it will be a meeting point for sector players, ranging from government agencies, ministries, private and international companies.

“We still have slots for exhibitors. Those who want stalls are encouraged to contact Vision Group to secure space,” says Jackie Taweeka, the Vision Group’s events sales manager.

Exhibitors

The expo is sponsored by, among others, the Embassy of the Netherlands, Tunga Nutrition and Engineering Solutions.

Dr Samuel Ssewagudde, a veterinary doctor with Trouw NV, the producers of Hendrix concentrate distributed by Champrisa International, promised those who will visit the expo that their stall will be full of learning and education materials.

“The stall will be fully stocked, with quality and nutritious concentrates that will enable farmers manage their farm costs, but maximise revenues. At the stall, we will have experts to explain to farmers the best feed mixing, mobile machines to check aflatoxins from feeds and also one that will check the quality of feed raw materials,” he says.

Previous expos attracted exhibitors from the Netherlands, Kenya, Tanzania and Egypt. On average, at least 250 exhibitors from all key agriculture sectors attend each year, attracting over 30,000 showgoers.

“Schools are encouraged to bring their students on Friday, February 14. We shall have a subsidised entry fee for them, plus a training session that will be specifically handled by students,” Vision Group chief executive officer Don Wanyama said.

The sessions will be practical than previous ones. Other sessions will cover goats, cattle, piggery, poultry, fish and vegetable farming.
