President Yoweri Museveni has visited his farm in Kisozi in the central Ugandan district of Gomba to check on his cattle.
He was in the company of his son, Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, who is the senior presidential adviser on special operations.
On Thursday, Museveni posted pictures of his visit to Kisozi on his X — formerly Twitter — page with a caption saying that whenever he can, “I take the opportunity to check on my own wealth creation activities”.
On the same post, he added that “I was in Kisozi with @mkainerugaba witnessing cattle spraying yesterday [Wednesday].
The President was at the farm also in July, during which his cattle got dewormed.
“The cattle industry of Uganda will be a big money earner for dairy and beef,” he said on X at the time.
Museveni has repeatedly advocated for wealth creation as a key driver of Uganda’s economic trajectory.
When he met with National Youth Council leaders in August this year, he said his emphasis is that “all the youth should get involved in wealth creation because many of the problems I have seen in the last 70 years are normally among children who did not have wealth creation as part of their culture”.
