Yona Baguma, the Director General National Agricultural Research Organization (NARO) has asked legislators on the parliamentary committee on agriculture to come up with legislation compelling all farmers to vaccinate their animals.
He said this would make animal vaccination mandatory thus help in the fight against ticks in animals in the country.
He said this as the legislators visited several NARO installations including the National Animal Tick Vaccine plant in its final stages of completion at the crop resources research institute in Namulonge.
Baguma said that upon completion, the plant will produce 10 million animal vaccines monthly for cows, goats and sheep available to all farmers at affordable price.
