On Thursday (October 13), the farmers visited a piggery farm in the Netherlands. The completely automated farm had 5000 pigs.
The farmers were amazed by the management system including breeding and feeding because it ensures maximum productivity.
Some of the sows produce as many as 25 piglets in a single litter and can do this for over eight times.
The farm owner told them that the farm receives about 500 piglets a week, but also sells off hundreds in order to maintain manageable numbers.
